Info

PADANG BAI DIVE SITES Blue Lagoon Enjoy the crystal clear waters and white sand of the aptly named Blue Lagoon. Normally we start this dive around the corner at Turtle Neck and dive the wall around into Blue Lagoon, looking for moray eels, boxer crabs, nudibranchs, and mantis shrimps hiding in the wall. The area is also covered in feather stars so keep your eyes out for ghost pipe fish and crinoid shrimps. In the lagoon itself, expect to see leaf scorpion fish, maybe an octopus, shark, frog fish or perhaps a turtle or sea krait. Enjoy the stunning hard and soft corals on your safety stop in the shallows. Depth: up to 25m Current: sometimes tidal currents or surge Temperature: 22- 29 degrees (colder thermoclines from July to November) Jepun Another great site for small stuff, at Jepus we dive amongst small soft corals and feather stars. We often see Ornate Ghost Pipe Fish, frog fish, all variety of nudibranchs, crabs and shrimpts as well as moray eels, blue spotted rays and yes…. a submarine. Depth: up to 25m Current: sometimes tidal currents Temperature: 22- 29 degrees (colder thermoclines from July to November) Bias Tugel A small bay near the port of Pandang Bai, you have to pick your time to dive Bias Tugel as it can be affected by tides. Get the right timing and be rewarded with stunning soft corals, hard corals such as table, staghorn and mushroom corals, as well as turtles, nudibranchs and pygmy seahorse. Depth: up to 25m Current: sometimes tidal currents or surge Temperature: 22- 29 degrees (colder thermoclines from July to November) The Jetty Don’t be put off by the rubbish at this dive site, (although we think it’s very sad); The Jetty is famous across Bali for the host of critters that can be found here. Pipe fish are everywhere, as well as porcupine pufferfish, giant frog fish, octopus, nudibranchs, rhinopias, pygmy cuttlefish, trumpet fish and schools of cat fish. You’ll spend hours with your nose in the sand looking for the next thing to photograph. Depth: up to 18m Current: mild moderate current Temperature: 22- 29 degrees (colder thermoclines from July to November) The Channel The Channel can be subject to some pretty wicked tidal currents so we to keep you safe, we require divers to hold an Advanced certification to visit this site. The Channel is covered in beautiful soft and hard corals, turtles are frequent visitors are are white tip reef sharks. Sometimes we can see lobsters hiding under the overhang and in the deeper areas, pygmy seahorse. Depth: up to 25m Current: tidal currents, unpredictable Temperature: 22- 29 degrees (colder thermoclines from July to November) Padang Bai Logistics Pick up Time in Canggu: 6:30 – 7am Travel Time: approximately 1.5hrs Return Time to Canggu:approximately 4pm Type of Diving: Boat
