Info
Take your first steps towards being able to venture into water depths down to 18 meters with a certified buddy anywhere in the world. The Open Water course takes about 35 hours to complete, our flexible approach means we can section this to accommodate the student’s lifestyle. There are 5 confined water sessions covering 24 practical skills, each preceded by knowledge development, then 4 open water dives.
– You can do the entire course over 4 full days with us if you choose to learn via the Open Water manual and videos.
– You master the confined water skills and theory assessments at your local scuba school, then finalize the 4 open water training dives in Pemuteran Bay.
– You can complete the theory on-line at your leisure, then come to us for confined water exercises and Open Water qualifying dives.
The only per-requisite is to be fit and healthy for diving. Every student must complete a medical form, as well as the liability release and standard of safe diving forms. If there are any questions that you can answer with a “yes” then you need to see a dive doctor to check whether your condition is compatible with diving. If they confirm your safe condition then have the doctor sign the form stating this and bring along to the center with you. Saves any disappointments later.
You need to be able to swim 200 meters (without stopping, any stroke and no time limit) and perform a survival float, keeping yourself above water for 10 minutes. These water skills are mandatory, we cannot certify you unless you complete them.
Upon successful completion of all confined and open water skills, and knowledge assessments, PADI will send you a certification card as a status of your dive abilities. It’s your ticket to be able to hire compressed air world-wide and continue training.
