Info
OVERVIEW
Join us for a day trip at beautiful Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. The dive sites around these islands offer a great variety of hard and soft corals, fish life, reef sharks and turtles. Stunning hard coral gardens and coral bommies where a wide variety of reef fish like angelfish, anthias, schooling bannerfish, fusiliers colour up your day. And most famously, encounters with manta rays are possible throughout the year and a chance to meet the Mola Sunfish who also come to the reefs to get cleaned (mostly between June-October but occasional sightings throughout the year occur).
Our driver will meet you at your hotel lobby at the appointed time to take you to our dive centre or if you are staying with us just walk in after your breakfast. After check-in at the dive centre, a cup of coffee or tea and an introduction video on how to responsibly dive with big marine animals like manta and Mola, we leave by bus to the departure pier where the boat is waiting for you. The drive to the pier takes about 10 minutes.
45 minutes later we will arrive at the island of Nusa Penida where we either have 2 or 3 dives scheduled. The dive sites chosen will depend mostly on the circumstances on the day, with both safety and the chance of special encounters in mind.
The day is generally planned for 3 dives, to come back to the dive centre around 05:00PM
There is a minimum of 1,5-hour surface interval scheduled between the dives.

Additional Information
Experience level:
Generally, we say: Advanced certification with 20 logged dives or Open water diver certification with a minimum of 30 dives as the conditions can be challenging.
Due to the currents often being strong at Nusa Penida we require less experienced divers to dive with a private guide. Our normal dive groups are small, maximum of 4 divers per guide, so it’s not always needed. Whether a private guide is needed depends on when you last dived and how many dives you have done in total. We are happy to advise you on this.
Water Temperature:
The water temperature in Nusa Penida varies a lot, most of the year temperatures are 26 to 29 degrees Celsius, but during the period from June till late October (the so-called Mola season) it can get a lot colder. Temperatures on the southern sites might even go below 20 degrees, while the northern Penida dive sites can still be as warm as 28 degrees on the same day.
We have both 3mm and 5mm thick short and long wetsuits at the dive centre to use. If we know the conditions are colder at the time or if you prefer, we will prepare a 5mm long wetsuits or even an extra layer.
Visibility:
Overall 20m plus, but it can vary from anything between 15-30 meters depending on the circumstances on the day
Dive courses:
For safety reasons, we don’t offer beginner courses at Nusa Penida. This is mainly due to the fact that currents can be strong there, hence it would not be safe to conduct initial diver training there.
If you are not certified yet you are most welcome to join as a snorkeler. It’s still an excellent way to see the vibrant coral reef, tropical fish and even manta rays.
